I was trying to take a MOTD pic, but my pup had other ideas and muscled his way into the picture. It’s no surprise my lipstick is gone, because I’m pretty sure he managed to eat most of it.
I used my new L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte foundation in shade 106, and I already love it. I’ll be another blogger to jump on the Infallible wagon – it is as good as everyone says. I applied it at about 9:45am and after 6+ hours of wear, it’s still going strong. I’m naturally very oily in the T-zone and normal-to-dry everywhere else. My nose had a bit of shine, which I expected, but it was so much duller than it typically is with other foundations. And the product on the rest of my face not over-drying at all. It just gave a nice, silken finish.
I used Maybelline Fit Me concealer under my eyes to highlight a little. I think it’s the best drugstore concealer on the market; it’s light and bendable and offers great coverage. I set it with Lyric from the Kat Von D Shade and Light palette. If you do not own that – you need it in your life!
From the same KVD palette, I used the shade Sombre to contour my cheeks and Shadowplay to lightly warm up the rest of my face. I haven’t used the really dark color yet, and even when I’m tan, it’s probably too dark for me. But it would be great to use on the eyes for a dark brown smoky eye.
Fo blush I tapped on a little Dollhouse, a pretty pale pink color from tarte. I like it because it adds just a little flush of color.
On my eyes I used the Lorac Pro palette. I blended taupe into the crease with a fluffy brush. With a slightly denser brush, I applied Sable directly into the crease to create a soft cut crease. And on the outer corners and the lower lash line I applied Espresso. To keep my lid light, I patted on Cream. Then I applied my winged liner using another Maybelline’s gem – the gel liner. This is so much better than any liquid liner I’ve ever used! I swiped on a couple coats of the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara – again, best drugstore mascara in my opinion!
Originally I had Rum Raisin by Cover Girl on my lips, but I went to Sephora (whoops) and ended up buying Urban Decay Sheer Slowburn lipstick – it’s a beautiful orange-red color. I went for the sheer formula because I was too scared to go for the really pigmented one, but this gives a beautiful wash of color with a sheen! I’ll do a lip-swatch post of this and the other colors I’ve bought recently because after my Pomeranian attacked me when I got home, there was none really left in the picture.
